Travelled this route four times in a recent six-day trip to Brittany. Surface a bit iffy in the southern section but got progressively better going north. Route is relentless - bend after bend after bend..... great fun!! Saw virtually no traffic and no sign of Police. Much recommended if in Brittany.
This route brings me back to my youth. I used it a lot then, as it was a main thoroughfare, which explains its relative width. Now it is used mostly by people commuting between Morlaix and their countryside abode. Few tourists venture on it on bike or else. In my humble opinion this road is best enjoyed à lenroulé, at a pacy cruise rather at an all out pace. There are still hazards: in the wet, as the trees around may make the road slippery in the shady bits. It is one of my favourite stretches in Brittany along with the not so distant route from the Montagne Brasparts to Le Faou.
I love this road as you are straight into some twistys just 30 mins from the ferry port of roscoff. Its a religion now to do this road coming off and heading to the ferry. Nice mix of straights and great corners.I met a car on that road once and only once virtually deserted and for police well I have never seen one.
