Rode this the other way - Albi to Millau and it was really very very good all the way: good road surface and nice continuous bends with OK visibility. Highlights for me were a couple of sets of bends between Alban and Saint Sernin sur Rance which is about 1/3 of way from Albi to Millau.
A great ride, lovely bends and a good road surface with very little traffic. We turned off early at Alban to take the D86 to Realmont on our way to Castres. Another peach of a road - a little slower than the D999 but in a superb rural setting.
A superb race track of a road, just keeps going all the way to (or from) the visitor centre under the Millau Bridge across to Albi. Easy to get carried away, speeds can get very silly because its such a fast open road. Change to the D992 for the Millau bridge visitor centre near the Millau end.
