Fantastic bit of road great scenery ! Loads of twists and bends couple of great straights ! Not much traffic a really popular road for bikers specially on the weekends well worth a ride. Carful through the villages some police present at times!!! Look out for tractors !!! + mud on the roads ride safe :)
Superb ride. Went for a little jaunt down to St Neots, grabbed a coffee at the market place and headed straight back down it. Not been riding for very long, but this road makes you feel like a pro. The visibility around corners means you can keep your speed up and concentrate on your cornering. Just watch out for the odd adjoining road on a couple of the bends. Have fun!
This is a superb stretch of road with lots of fast open well surfaced corners and enough straight sections to allow for some significant speeds. As a Red Route it tends to get a lot of police attention but a bit of care and a sighting run from one end to the other before a return run “with enthusiasm†will have you smiling for days.
Nice ride
A bit of everything - good straights and tasty corners. Very pleasing. Follow the road on to Higham Ferrars to complete the run.
Only rode the Northants section for the first time yesterday and really enjoyed it. Lots of good bends for all abilities, with some straight bits to open it up. This route is now a "Red Route" and there are alot of accidents (probably one every summer Sunday) on it to justify that status, so be carefull. It's not too busy, so you're unlucky to get stuck behind anything. Try the B660 at Kimbolton too, either way, Bedford or Ramsey, to make a good little loop.
this is a great road for learners up to superbikes. unmarked cop cars patrol the road and speed cameras set up along the route somethmes, but for a good local ride this one is ace.the star and garter pub in chelveston is a good start point, nice pub where you can start or finish the run.enjoy the ride between here and st neots long straights tight bends and the odd village thrown in for good measure make it a nice ride out. but be warned there has been some bad accidents here. try it for yourself, on a sunny day its hard to beat a good ride out. stay safe and points free. This bike is certainly popular with bikers and the Chelveston pub, I'm not sure it was called the Bell, is well worth a visit especially on a Wednesday evening during the Summer, when you can join perhaps 100+ bikers and enjoy a BBQ. Not surprisingly, the police also tend to be present on Wednesdays too.
this is the only decent road that starts in northants for bikers it has some lovley straight sections mixed in with some flowing corners and the odd tight corner just as you go thruogh kimbolton. but be ouick as this road has just been designated a red route so expect some police presence at some satge on this route. be sure to call in the bell in chelveston on your way thruogh for a warm bikers welcome and also when you get to st neots you will think that route was so good oyu will want turn around and do it the other way so why dont you????.
