This is my local road as I live in Withernsea & never fail to be disappointed on this run. The road weaves in the right places but there are plenty of opportunities to overtake the tractor / car etc. Biggest hazard recently is the wildlife, deer, rabbits, hares, foxes etc. The only real let down now is that petrol stations are few with only the 1 at Mappleton on this route.
we use this as part of a run down to Spurn Point. What's that you ask? The most easterly part of Yorkshire, remote, wild, nature conservation area. Run to the point, pay £2 ENTRY FEE and enjoy full breakfast. The road is covered in sand in places to the Point - fun on an SBK. The roads round here are generally unpoliced, no cameras, short, tight, twisty sections abound. Very scenic, worth doing to the end!
This is a great little run on a Sunday morning to get rid of the cobwebs, if you time it right then you can miss all the sunday drivers and really have a go at this route. Lots of great corners but watch out for the odd humpback section here and there as it is easy to get airborne just before some of the sharp bends !! There is the odd straight bit for the quick blast but as the route levels off you can have good vision across the low hedges. Now starting to get pretty popular with other riders, and no sign of Plod or cameras as yet !! What i can recommend is a ride to Withernsea from Hornsea and have breakfast at the cafe on the promenade, then head on back to Hornsea, and do it in the opposite direction.
