I plan in May 2014 to make this trip. I would like to ask if this road from Perhkopi to Kukes is tamrac road. Are there any off road parts? Best regards
We just came back making this tip (May 2013), and the road has just been completed, full of Tarmac, really good tarmac, with good turns. Many things to watch, many places to take pictures, so, a really good rating overall :)
forgot to mention, there is another road heading to Kukes as you can see the map, that one is in a really veryyyyy bad condition and its not reccommedet except if you are riding a cross/enduro bike
great scenery road, distance is appr 100km but it takes around 3 hours. remore villages, high elevation roads, mainly no facilities and BE VERY VIGILAND, the road eventhough mainly in good condition can hide many holes and other features that can harm you & bike. as you leave from Peshkopi, in a few kms there is a right turn, that road is new and well surfaced but with surprices as well. cannot give you better directions because there are almsot non road signs, by asking people you get directions. elevation can reach just above 2000m. basic accommodation and facilties (even hospital) you can find in Kukes.
