An excellent alternative to the Hume Highway - unless you're on a cruiser. There's a short (about 3k) section of dirt near Tumorrama Hall. The run down toward Tumut when heading south and west after you've left the forest are has a couple of decreasing radius RH corners that need to be taken with care. This section also has timber trucks from time to time.
