This road is just a short hop away from Cold Springs, NY and is very easily reached. Keep an eye on your odometer after you turn from 301 on to route 9 and its almost exactly 1.5 miles on your right. Once on East Mountain Road don't expect to go much faster than 30mph without taking on a much higher level of risk, there are many points at which a car could potentially take you unawares from the opposite direction. Overall it was a very pleasant ride on a very pleasant summer day. The ride, mainly in the forest, is very cool and shady with a few open areas and plenty of turns. It also is important to note that there is a stretch of dirt road towards the end of East Mountain Road as you make your way towards the reservoir, but it's well worth the bumps if you are comfortable riding on an unpaved surface. My Bonneville handled it just fine!
