Another must have around
What agreat ride!! The scenery is spectacular, road surface great and some beautiful corners and straight sections to allow you to take a breath. Only down side a lot of cage drivers on a Sunday afternoon in early fall but known the less well worth the ride.
The road on the western side works its way up through a beautiful landscape with lots of flora and very nice bends. The eastern side is not as spectacular, but has many nice high speed parts. Be aware, its going down pretty far beside the road. This is one of the best passes in Switzerland and can be combined with a lot of other great roads nearby.
Now about this pass: its absolutely great! Nothing less then pure bliss! And I would like to remind everybody that this is the top-part of the Innertkirchen Quadrant: combine Sustenpass with Furka-pass, Grimsel-pass and Nufenenpass and you did find bikers El Dorado with masses of cheap hotel rooms in the middle.
IMHO, simply, the best route in Europe: a must-do for any bike enthusiast. On the Gadmen side, its a reference road for KTM testers - enough said. A lot of connecting, fun roads too.
I fully agree. Susten is a fabulously beautiful alpine riders pass. Refer to Nufenenpass for an idea as regards how to combine it with other brilliant near-by Swiss passes. Ride safely - but have fun...!
A road not to be missed. Awesome scenery and excelent road surface. You can miss the Steingletscher glacier that comes just beside the road. A bikers paradise.
This photos was taken in late July and there was still snow on the road! I kept thinking that this road would be unbelievable in the dry...
