Did this route yesterday morning it´s absolutely superb was riding my MV Augusta F4, but it would be awesome for any bike as there is a mixture of everything from hairpins to fast sweepers ????????
This route is “my local” and I am very thankful to have it on my doorstep. It certainly can be ridden either way, but I prefer to start on the Bulle side. Ride right under the Chateau of Gruyeres, and up the a nice canyon with lots of open corners. Don’t hammer it to hard down here as there is the occasional patrol, but there are plenty of places to pass and get set up for going up to the Col de Mosse. The road up to the Col is just stunning!! Beautiful canyon as you thread your way along the side of a cliff. I suggest you stop a some of the pull offs to really take it all in, because if you make a mistake here, well, let’s not talk about it. You climb up to a high valley, where the road opens up, with some great sweepers going up to Col de Mosse... Many bike friendly places up here to have a coffee ofr a beer at this small local alpine resort. All downhill from here. 3 roads merge going down the hill so the last 8 km can be a bit slow, but there are places to pass if you are motivated. You have some final switchbacks at the end- then you have arrived.
