The first half of this route (North of Blandford) is lovely. It begins with wide open bends with good straights and dips then changes into some very tight and consecutive 90 degree bends, some under tree cover. The road surface is generally good but there are a few rough parts under the trees. Beyond Blandford the going is very slow. There is village after village, two with cameras. Between the villages there are low speed limits of 40 until you approach the dual carriageway near Poole. Traffic can be heavy throughout the week with HGVs and tractors slowing the game down. Stick to the first section, Warminster to Blandford!
Very good all round 3 time on that road
Very good
rode this route a few days ago, the roads at certain places are average english country roads (uneven and potholed). But all in all a very good fun ride for the afternoon. however i did see a few police cars parked in the entrance to a few villages, so be aware speeders.
Cameras at charlton marshall and spetsbury are because their narrow vilages! No other cameras at all. Best bit is the top end- warminster, south of blandford is not so good.
This is varied section through some pretty nice countryside. Starts off brisk and sweeping before turning more twisty, road surface is fairly good, although the best section is at the beginning. I understand also that there are two fixed road safety cameras at Charlton and Spetisbury so be aware that these may be accident blackspots. Happy Riding.
