Rode this middle of June 2015. We rode it from Skyline down into Palo Alto, but I would recommend going up instead as it has quite a grade. The road surface was overall pretty good, though did have persistent bumps but because it is a slow speed 1-2nd gear, it did not upset suspension much. Pretty much all twists so no passing if a cager wants to screw you. There are some turnouts though. LOTS of bicycles like most roads in the Santa Cruz mountains. Overall a fun road that I would ride again.
I just rode this again yesterday, and this is a very entertaining road. Lots of driveways and bicyclists to be aware of, so not a road where you can really hang it out. However, the road is sufficiently tight and technical that you don't have to go terribly fast to have a really good time. Near constant turning as you climbing from Hwy 280 up to Hwy 35 makes this a gem. I'd give it 3-1/2 stars if that were a choice. It's one of my favorite roads in the SC hills.
Leaving the 280, this road has lot of nice corners, easily accessible from Palo Alto
