Not quite as scenic as Valley of Fire but impressive view and very good road. A bit of a highway ride to get there and no gas stations nearby. At the top you are over 8000 feet and the temperature will drop ~ 30 degrees from LV. Worth the trip if you have a few hrs
This is a fairly short run but it goes from desert all the way up to high alpine with great views. Nice long sweepers for a high speed run and the temp drops about 20-30 degrees from Vegas to the top of Mt. Charleston. FYI - Bring a jacket. Also there is a lodge at the top where you can grab lunch. If traveling to Vegas you don't want to miss this one.
